Celebrate Shavuot at our community Tikkun Leil Shavuot - a night of Torah study! Free to all and all are welcome. Here's the schedule for the evening:

Asher Weinstein presents "Ehud the Southpaw: How Lefty Killed Hefty and the Connection to Ruth"
The story of Ehud the Left Handed covers one of the lesser known judges in ancient Israel. Learn the hilarious tale of this lefty's daring adventure to save the people from a larger than life tyrant and how it comes full circle and connects to Shavuot and the story of Ruth.

Rabbi David Nesson from MJCBY presents "A Rabbi, An Evil Sorcerer and a Poem: The Story Behind and the Meaning of the Akdamut Poem"

Cantor Shana Onigman from MJCBY presents "The Ten What? An In-Depth Exploration of the Ten Commandments”
We will look at the Ten Commandments as they appear in the Sefer Torah itself, and as they are represented symbolically on tablets in synagogues and other public places. We will compare the different ways the Ten Commandments are actually counted according to various religious interpretations, and how they are understood as a guide for individuals and societies. Lastly, we will learn clever associative memory tricks of how to remember what the Ten Commandments are, in order.
